Move On! – Maju Terus!

Idea Generation Techniques – Ego Alter

Often we are faced with a project or problem and we don’t know how to find fresh new approaches to solving the problem. Ego Alter is one way to get those ideas! This tool will help you use this process effectively. You can also use this tool (and technique) with a group.

1. What is the project or challenge you want to focus on?

2. Select a new perspective by clicking on the box below.

If the random name that comes up doesn’t really work for you, click again to find another one! Remember though that part of the value of the exercise is finding very new and fresh perspectives!

3. Imagine the person you selected is solving your problem (or leading a team to a solution).

4. Describe the solutions they came to – or the ideas they generated. Include their ideas for processes, technologies, timelines, how their solutions change related situations and events, etc.

5. After reviewing the ideas and solutions you and your new creative partner come up with in section 4, ask yourself how you can modify or adapt any of those ideas into your solution.
